Date & Plum juice

A great energy booster for skiing or other winter sports, this warming drink can also be made with cold milk, if you prefer. Dates contain magnesium, which is needed for the release of energy & to avoid muscle fatigue & cramps. They are also high in potassium to replace any loss due to perspiration. Soy milk provides carbohydrate & fatty acids needed for energy. The plums add sweetness & flavor & also contain some magnesium & potassium.

Ingredients:-

  • 6 dates pitted & chopped
  • Half cup water
  • 2 canned dark plums in natural juice (drained, halved & pitted)
  • 200 ml hot soy milk

Food preparation:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the dates & water.
  2. Bring to a boil, stirring until the mixture forms a paste.
  3. Spoon into a blender.
  4. Add the plums & soy milk & blend until smooth.
  5. Serve immediately.
Apple with Pear

Makes 1 cup.

Beets help to promote liver function, which improves the elimination ability of the digestive system. The carotenes in beet also help to maintain good skin health. Ginger acts as an anti-inflammatory agent to help reduce the itchiness of eczema, while apple & pear are gentle to the system & provide soluble fiber.

Ingredients:-

  • 1 —– chopped Apple
  • 1 —– chopped Pear ( Nashpati )
  • Half large —– chopped Beetrool ( Chuqandar )
  • Half inch Piece —– fresh ginger

Method:-

  1. Process all the ingredients and mix well in a juice extractor.
  2. Drink immediately.
